The Nigerian Army on Monday said it has begun probing the incident of a soldier who allegedly killed his colleagues and himself at Forward Operations Base Rabbah, Sokoto State.
According to him, the troops were deployed for internal security operations in the area.
Onyema stated that the circumstances leading to the incident could not be immediately ascertained, adding that the soldier who killed his colleagues also shot himself immediately.
According to a statement, the Nigerian Army is conducting investigations into a tragic event that occurred at Forward Operations Base Rabbah, Sokoto State. On the evening of Sunday, March 5, 2023, a soldier killed both his colleagues and himself at the FOB, where troops were deployed for Internal Security Operations.
The statement also noted that the circumstances that led to the incident are still unclear, as the soldier who committed the act immediately took his own life after killing his colleagues. This unfortunate event is both sad and rare, and the Nigerian Army is taking measures to thoroughly investigate the matter.
