Veteran Yoruba movie actress Bukky Ogunnote has shared her perspective on the controversial issue of producers demanding relationships from actresses in exchange for movie roles. In an interview posted on the official YouTube channel of Oyinmomo TV, Ogunnote explained that she does not see it as a big deal if there is mutual consent between the parties involved.
She noted that such relationships are not unique to the film industry and occur in various sectors, including banking and education, where coworkers or even lecturers and students may have relationships. Ogunnote emphasized that the difference is that actors are in the public eye, so their actions are more quickly noticed and scrutinized.
Ogunnote clarified that while no producer has ever asked her for a relationship in exchange for a role, she acknowledged that the practice does exist within the industry. She argued that if both the producer and the actress agree to such terms, they are consenting adults and free to make their own decisions without needing to inform others.
During an interview on Oyinmomo TV, she remarked, “There is no sector in Nigeria where their co-workers don’t date each other, but because we are actors, that is why people get to know about anything we do so quickly.
She further said, “There is nothing wrong if producers have s€x with actresses to give them movie roles.
