How Two Robbers, Aged 18, 20 Were Arrested After Attacking People At Gunpoint In Broad Daylight ~ The Scoper Media

 

     Two young men who were said to be among four robbers who attacked some residents in broad daylight and stole valuables from them have been arrested by the operatives of the Delta State Police Command during a chase while the other two fled into the bush.

    The two young men, whose names were given as Desmond Ejinyere, aged 18 years and Joshua Emoefe, aged 20 years, were arrested by the operatives attached to the Orerokpe Police Division who raced to the scene following a report made by an indigene.

  The arrested young men and the items said to have been recovered from them, as posted by the Delta State Police Command on Tuesday.

    It was gathered that the man reported at the police station that the robbers, armed with a locally-made pistol, attacked and dispossessed them of valuables including phones and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards at gunpoint around 11:40 a.m.

According to a statement by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe and posted on the Facebook wall of the command on Tuesday, on sighting the policemen, the four robbers were said to have taken to their heels, but the police was able to arrest Desmond Ejinyere.

However, when the policemen combed the nearby bush further, they were able to arrest the second robber, Joshua Emoefe, while the two remaining members of the gang escaped arrest as they could not be found.

The statement added that the two men had given policemen useful information about their activities, while they are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.

Also, according to the statement, a manhunt had been launched for the arrest of the remaining two members of the gang.
