We Have Not Re-Introduced Monthly Environmental Sanitation From July – LASG 🎊 The Scoper Media

…Wahab says their will be no restriction on last saturday of July

On Wednesday, the Lagos State Government firmly dismissed widespread rumors circulating on social media, clarifying that there are no plans to reintroduce the monthly environmental sanitation exercise. Officials stated unequivocally that the state will not be implementing any movement restrictions at the end of July, putting to rest any speculation about such measures

In a statement released by the State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, he addressed the circulating news, dismissing it as the fabrication of mischief makers intent on misleading residents.

He encouraged residents to ignore the viral fake news, reassuring them that they could continue their daily activities without worry. Contrary to the misinformation, there will be no movement restrictions on the last Saturday of July.

During a sanitation drive at Lagos Island’s Campos playground on Sunday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu unveiled an ambitious new initiative. Starting soon, Lagos State will launch a weekly community-based sensitization and awareness campaign. This initiative aims to engage all residents, fostering a collective effort to enhance cleanliness and environmental responsibility across the state. Wahab detailed that this campaign will be a cornerstone in promoting a cleaner, healthier Lagos, with every community member playing a vital role in its success.

In his words: “The Governor also stated that State Government officials will lead from the front every week by going round to join residents in cleaning their environment in a voluntary manner while preaching the message”.

Tokunbo Wahab clarified that Governor Sanwo-Olu never announced that the monthly exercise and movement restrictions would begin in July or any other specific month. He emphasized that no such decision has been made at this time.

The Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment continuously, urging residents not to wait for government-declared sanitation months or movement restrictions to start cleaning their surroundings. He encouraged everyone to adopt a proactive attitude toward cleanliness, making it a regular part of their daily routines.
