The Bauchi state police operatives have arrested four terror suspects who confessed to killing a former Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Garkuwa , a Bauchi House of Assembly lawmaker, Musa Mante, and kidnapping three members of Mante’s family.
The suspects, Hashimu Galadima a.k.a. Kan Wuka, Abduwahab Abdulhassan a.k.a Emeka, Hamidu Saleh, and Abdulwahab Ahmed a.k.a. Dan Mama, were arrested by the DCP Tunji Disu-led elite squad following an investigation into high-profile murders, kidnappings, and armed robbery incidents in the State.
One of the suspects, Hashimu, who is the gang leader, said that they hated the DPO because he always interrupts their operations.
The Nation Newspaper has it that the 48-year-old gang leader said they killed Musa Mante because he had wronged them, adding that his murder was orchestrated by Abduwahab Abdulhassan.
Hashimu said Honorable Mantel had always gifted people money but had never given him any, and that was why they disliked him. He revealed that there was a time he had a problem with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) because he sold hard drugs but the lawmaker had refused to help him secure his release, which led to a one-year jail term.
He said Abdulhassan was the one who provided them with information on how to locate and sneak into the lawmaker’s house, adding that he never wanted to kill the honorable but Abdulhassan suggested they kill Honorable Mante.
