The Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps code named So-Safe has arrested a 38 years old Mathew Ifeanyi, who allegedly macheted his biological father to death in Ogun. According to a press release by So-Safe through the office of its State Commander, (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, on Tuesday, 29th August, 2023, Superintendent Alabi Gafar, the Divisional Officer of the Corps at Alade/Atago/Ntabo Divisional Command that at 11, Ibikunle Street, Diamond Estate, along Olorunda Area, Eruobodo Ntabo, Ijoko in Ado Odo, Ota Local Government Area, received information that a middle-aged man was attacking his biological father with cutlass.
The statement noted that the Divisional Command patrol team were thereafter instructed to rescue the helpless parent Anthony Nnadike, 100 years old and to get the son arrested, and they swung into action immediately, but, on getting to the scene, the victim has been rushed down to the nearest general hospital, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor due to the severe injury he sustained. It was revealed that the culprit restricted arrest but was apprehended and during preliminary investigation into what prompted his action, he said that inability of his father to refund the sum of ₦70,000:00 he entrusted his father with since 22nd July, 2022 made him do what he did. “The suspect has however been transfered to the Nigeria Police Force, Sango Divisional Headquarter for further investigation and likely prosecution”, the statement read.
