50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF CEPACS IN NIGERIA }{ The Scoper Media



      The Catholic Church in Nigeria is set to host the 50th Anniversary celebration of CEPACS. CEPACS is the African continental organ for social communications, presently under the Presidency of Most Rev. Emmanuel Adetoyese, the Catholic Bishop of Oyo Diocese.

It was founded in the year 1973 in Ibadan by the Catholic Bishops under the auspices of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar with the mandate of promoting the management of communication activities in Africa.

The theme of the CEPACS 50th anniversary celebration which will be held in Lagos from November 18 to 21, 2023 is, “CEPACS at 50: Towards promoting a Synodal Church in Africa through Social Communications.”
The keynote speaker at the anniversary celebration is Dr. Paolo Ruffini, the Prefect for Dicastery for Communications, Vatican. We write to invite your highly esteemed media organization to cover the activities marking the celebration as follows:

(a) A World press conference to be held on Friday, November 17 at Holy Cross Cathedral, Lagos. Time, 1.00pm.

(b) The Anniversary Thanksgiving Mass/opening ceremony is to be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 10.00am. The Mass will be celebrated by the Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, to be supported by several other Bishops from across Africa.

(c) 50th Anniversary Conference on Monday 20th November 2023, at Lumen Christi Retreat and Media Centre, Lekki by 9.00am.
