BREAKING: EFCC Breaks into Mitros Hotel, Arrests Internet Fraudsters ~ The Scoper Media

 

There was tension in Mitros Residences Annex hotel following an alleged invasion by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commissions.

It was gathered that the EFCC operatives reportedly broke into Mitros Residences hotel around 4am on Monday and arrested some lodgers suspected to be internet fraudsters.

It further learnt that the EFCC operatives during the raid went away with some exotics cars and gadgets reportedly belonging to the suspected fraudsters .

When our reporter visited the hotel on Monday afternoon, it was discovered that there was unusual silence as workers were seen hanging around to discuss the alleged invasion.

Also observed that some of the hotel doors were broken, while broken plates could also be sighted within the hotel premises.

One of the lodgers lamented that the doors to some of the hotel rooms were broken when the EFCC operatives forcefully gained access into the rooms.

The lodger disclosed that while some of the suspected fraudsters escaped arrest, some were reportedly whisked away by the EFCC operatives.

Also, a lady that was in one of the rooms invaded said the armed EFCC operatives took away about six phones from their rooms.

The lady however said the guy who she was lodging with was able to escape arrest, but his cars and gadgets were seized by the EFCC operatives.

She said, “we did not hear anything, it was when they off Gen (sic) that we discovered that there was a problem. It was the cry of someone that we heard

“Like six phones were taken in our room. Those people are thieves, they stormed different residences in the midnight

“The person I slept with escaped, but his vehicle was taken.”

When the EFCC Head of Public Affairs, Lagos, Ayo Oyewole was contacted, he asked the reporter to call back while he confirmed if the arrest was from the Lagos command.

Oyewole explained that both operatives of Lagos and Ibadan command of the commission could make a sting operation in Ogun state.

He added, “I am not disputing that EFCC came to Abeokuta, what I am saying is they could be from Ibadan because Ibadan and Lagos commands oversee Ogun state.

“As I am seated now, I have not been briefed about any operation. So, I cannot say it is actually from Lagos and I cannot also speak for Ibadan

“Maybe you also try and find out from Ibadan if they actually carry a sting operation in Abeokuta today. I will also find out if we are one that did the operation.”
