Frontline Pigin English Radio WAZOBIA 95.1 FM Lagos [chookmouth] organised its 2nd edition of community hangout at Opebi lkeja Lagos.
The audience has a mixture of new, existing, loyal listeners , fans friends and families. Speaking to Pogrammes Manager, Mr Uche Nwaneri Stretch, disclosed that “we have a bigger improved community hangout than the previous one.This gives more people the platform to express their thoughts, personalities, individualities and interact with their favourite OAPs and friends.
We seek to encourage the inclusion of the grassroot population on issues that deal with the nation’s development in entertaining and educative ways.
Nwaneri added that, “As a family Radio station, we regularly provide emotional, physical and financial assistance to loyal audiences by using the radio and our social media platforms to keep people happy and energetic everywhere “.
According to him,” they met their favourite OAPs, celebrities, take pictures, network and strengthen their contacts and business ties with them and maintain healthy relationship.
According to Nwaneri, “We provide assistance to people using the radio and it’s social media platforms to keep families happy, managing stress free homes, offices and environment.
In similar vein, popular Tombobelle host of “Our Backyard” and co- host “You and Yaw”.Our Back yard on WAZOBIA FM has been saving families from collapsing, emotional blackmails, cheating, oppression, divorces, separation among other vices .
He said as a co- host with Robosman, we handle very sensitive, domestic family and societal issues on our programme”
The Chemical Petroleum engineering graduate and media guru who has spent over 15years on different radio stations disclosed that “A happy family is a happy society” He unwind with friends and family.
“We make families stay happy with comedy, guide their mental health, lifestyle to wax stronger and stronger. “He appealed to fans and families to always support the station physically morally, emotionally, prayerfully and give authentic information.
Tombobelle recalled an incident where a caller threatened to come to my estate to kill him because of the sensitive nature as host of our back yard.These are hazards of the jobs stepping on toes of the strong men and women who are allegedly abusers and untouchables.
Chief Suo known asTracy Chapele-Ugo, Nigerian female pidgin sports commentator said . “I personally appreciate top ace broadcasters like Yaw and others Nedu Lolo, Marshe who have left and passed the batons to us to continue from their good media legacy to impact our great fans.
She said radio is very dynamic ,it encourages and heal us emotionally.
The beautiful amazing sports presenter disclosed that she has spent over 12yrs in different Radio stations like Brillia FM, lnspiration FM, Crown FM Warri, WAZOBIA FM and media which made her more dynamic and abreast with latest technology and innovation in sports broadcasts.All these experiences l gained over years prepared me for today’s radio. Besides, growing up in the midst of eleven brothers strengthen me to listen more and work with others differently in their spaces.
As an Urhobo chief, she added l inherited my late father’s chieftaincy title to continue with his legacy as a peace maker in Alaja Town Delta State. I am a woman of many parts , having travelled far and wide globally doing sports reporting. I impact people differently with my pigin sports commentaries and other international community projects.
Suo appreciated parents who came with their university undergraduates to the hangout to say thanks to us for our early morning motivational show, which is theraputic and healing from negative emotions.
Speaking to popular sports broadcaster Buchi Aka LabaLaba master disclosed that he missed the last community hangout Yaba Lagos, because he was busy with Sports Republik programme at the studio, but l have to squeeze myself to see my favorites fans and listeners.They are the Very lmportant personalities (VIPs) without them no WAZOBIA FM.
He pointed that WAZOBIA FM is ranked “The Best Station with rich and informative sports Pigin commentaries among impacting programmes. Sadly, some fans have call the WAZOBIA management severally to sack me for no reasons, maybe because of my strong personality and opinions. l still love all my fans regardless.Talking Pigin commentaries on sports is our greatest strength in Nigeria.” I love to interact with our listener, fans, families and people in diaspora on radio.Today, l can see, play and mix with them directly.” I am private and indoor person, l spend time with my family. I respect people and want them to reciprocate too.”
The event includes 11 visually impaired persons were given cartons of noodles, Milo beverages and other snacks. Bola visually impaired lady from Ogba said, It was a dream come true. Another Kaduna born fan Ninsharp disclosed that he is grateful for the lkeja community hangout.
The audience were treated with food, snacks, noddles and some take aways, freebies. They interacted and network together. The highpoint of the event, awarding leading “DJ General lndo electrified the mood with good music, Papito on stage, Udifreke Josiah popular Lagos News anchor thrilled the guests with comedy & jokes on public schools Rhymes as they sang along with him. Papito was on stage with his spending spree and cash give away. Among the roll calls present were WAZOBIA On -Air -personalities Solid AC, popular Uzo Ododo-Oba, Expensive Tombobelle, Robosman, calabar girls, Sosorobia, Ratata, Ada din -din, Seneye -last born.Stars Night Club boss hosted and appreciated the WAZOBIA station, fans and people.
