Congratulations to Dr. (Mrs.) Fatimah Jibril Abduldayan of the department of Library and Information Technology, School of Science Technology Education (SSTE) as she complete her PhD program and won the Prof Abdullahi Bala’s Award for Best Doctoral Thesis during the 38th Founders’ Day Celebrations and the 30th Convocation Ceremonies of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Nigeria on Wednesday 2nd Feb 2022.
The announcement was made by the University’s Registrar, Mr Amos Kolo in his remarks at the Suleiman Kumo Convocation Square of the university. The award was given by the Chancellor, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi (Deji of Akure) and the Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdullahi Bala.
The convocation was witnessed by dignitaries and invited guests like the Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Emir of Bida and Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar; Emir of Minna, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Farooq Bahago; Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, and others.
Three honorary doctorate degrees was also awarded to the President African Development Bank, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, the NNPC Group Managing Director/CEO, Dr Mele Kolo Kyari, and General Abdusalami Abubakar.

The Prof Abdullahi Best Doctoral Thesis award is the first of it’s kind in the history of the university and Dr Fatimah is the first female to ever win such an award in FUT Minna.
