Memorial Service Draws Heartfelt Thanks: Attendees Reflect On Jesus’ Legacy Of Love And Sacrifice, By Cleopatra Eki 🎊 The Scoper Media

Jehovah’s Witnesses all over the world observed the Memorial of Jesus Christ’s Death at sun down on March 24th, 2024. This Memorial is also known as the Lord’s Supper or Evening Meal.

The event attracted friends, Bible students and members to various Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The Memorial includes a talk on the importance of the observance and a sharing of unadulterated red wine and unleavened bread by those who have been chosen to rule with Christ in heaven.

Speaking in French Brother Nicholas Abayomi emphasized the importance of commemorating the Memorial of Jesus’ death at the Kingdom Hall, Addo Lagbasa Lagos.

He maintained that the purpose of the Memorial is to remember Jesus and show gratitude for the sacrifice that he made on behalf of humanity.

He added that Jesus instituted the Lord’s Evening Meal on the date of the Jewish Passover, and he died later that same day.
Recalled that Jesus began the Lord’s Evening Meal on the day of Passover and it was observed on a yearly basis, Jehovah’s Witnesses have an annual celebration of the Memorial based on the calendar that was used by the Jews at that time.

This means that the Memorial is held after sunset, which was the beginning of the Jewish day.

Abayomi added that the bread symbolizes the body that Jesus Christ gave on behalf of humanity, and the wine symbolizes the blood that redeems us from sin.

In his first inspired letter to the Corinthians, Paul wrote to anointed Christians that by commemorating Jesus’ death each year, they “keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he comes.” (1 Cor. 11:26)
Brother Kehinde Adewale who spoke in French language thanked the guests and encouraged them to appreciate Jesus’ precious sacrifice and avail themselves for free Bible studies to know more about Jehovah’s wonderful provisions for humans

The bread and wine were pass around guests, members and persons present at the event , after the memorial talk , Bible students were also invited for future meetings among others.
