The candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party in the February 25, 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, are not in court as the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal began sitting to deliver judgment on Wednesday.
So also absent was President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the election.
Tinubu was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who arrived at the court with the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Abubakar and Obi are challenging the declaration of Tinubu as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
And outside the court were protesters who were demanding fair judgment.
They bore different placards and were singing as the Tribunal began delivering judgment.
