The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the death of a 24- year-old Olugboyo Olufunke in Lagos who was attacked by suspected cultists.
In a statement made available by the Assitant Commissioner of Police, Olufunke, a final year linguistics studies student was attacked and murdered at her residence at No 18, Abiola Fatunbi street, Abake Estate, Lagos by unknown men.
Also, the report confirmed that this gruesome act perpetrated by these evil men happened as a means to capture the fiance of the deceased, Aderibigbe Abayomi Simeon by cult members who had been trailing him for months.
“We are currently working tirelessly to ensure the culprits are exposed and brought to book.”
Meanwhile the family of deceased has declared Abayomi Simeon wanted for alleged killing of their daughter.
The father of the deceased, Mr Kayode Olugboyo said his daughter was attacked in the school premises by the notorious gang of cult members of University of Lagos, Akoka on her way home from school on the 2nd of May, 2022.
“Her fiance has been on a hideout as result of the cultist gang attack since he has been nominated and emerged as Head of Anti-cultism movement of Obafemi Awolowo University.
“Several attempts were also made by the notorious gangs to attack the parents of Simeon at their residence as a result of their target to crush him down.
“Anyone with useful information about him should please contact the Nigerian Police Force,” he pleaded.
