We, the Labour Party Stake Holders Forum in Obingwa LGA, held a three-day Retreat from 25th to 27th August, 2023 at the Golden Olives Hotel Umuahia. During the retreat, we as a group concerned with improvement of lives for the common people in Obingwa and Abia State in general, brainstormed on:
a).How to develop a good Security Architecture in Obingwa LGA for the security/safety of lives and property.
b).The identification of Economic Potentials in Obingwa LGA, which could be harnessed to alleviate poverty, create wealth, grow meaningful employment and bring prosperity for the people.
c).The solutions to Infrastructural Challenges in Obingwa LGA which need to be in place in order to reduce suffering and improve the living standards of the people.
d).Better ways and manner of changing the prevailing political mindsets of corrupt self-enrichment, looting and violence to that of selfless-service and people oriented governance that benefit all common people of Obingwa and Abians at large.
This Retreat themed “Rebranding Obingwa for Better Politics” is aimed at helping the Administration of Dr. Alex Otti identify and address low hanging fruit opportunities that will change the political, social and economic narratives of Abia State while delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
Obingwa Labour Party Stakeholders Forum (OLPSHF) seeks to show that Obingwa has honest people in politics who abhor the prebendary politics of corrupt enrichment while epitomizing ethical politics of facilitating measurable societal progress in terms of security, economic growth, social harmony and infrastructural development for all.
In the coming weeks we the OLPSHF will seek to make a presentation of the working documents on Security, Economic Development and Infrastructural Development arising from the retreat deliberations, to His Excellency Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR, The Executive Governor of Abia State, in Nigeria.
The same working documents, we believe will be a great asset to the future Obingwa Local Government Chairman as well. To all arms of Government in Abia State, the OLPSHF remains a professional, articulate solution-oriented and credible partner in progress for accountability, positive impacts, effective representations and people oriented governance.
