Six Dead As Explosion Rocks Kubwa Market In Abuja ~ The Scoper Media

 An explosion has rocked part of Kubwa Ultra Morden Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja killing six persons including children leaving many others wounded.

  The explosion which occurred around 7:00 pm on Friday at a popular “Woman Booku Junction” opposite the market while traders were closing for the day was said to have been caused by a kerosene tank in a shop.

  The serene atmosphere at the densely populated junction was punctured when the shop erupted in flame with a loud sound leading to the death of six persons while those who sustained injuries were taken to Kubwa General Hospital for treatment.

 The explosion flung some of the victims mainly roadside traders who were selling in front of the gasoline shop and burnt them beyond recognition.

  The shop owner who is a woman was not lucky as she was caught up in the explosion. Eye witness account said the kerosene might have been an adulterated product, which the owner may not have knowledge about.

 Rescue operations have been concluded at the time of filing this report which includes the Firefighters from NYSC Kubwa Orientation camp, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Nigerian police and Civil Defence Corps.
